We just finished unrolling our latest release. Aside from a few minor behind-the-scenes improvements, we are now using Google Charts for our graphing library. While Gruff has been a wonderful graphing library, we decided to move to a new library that takes some of the strain off of our servers and let Google handle that for us. Don’t worry, we don’t send any of you data to Google, just the numbers they need to make the pretty charts.
I hope you like it. Here’s a sample:

Hello dimewisers!
Yes, loyal friends, we are among the living. You may have wondered if we’d fallen into the sewer and had been living off of roasted rats and scavenged algae. Or if we were swimming in piles of coins, Scrooge McDuck-style, ignoring the masses who’d stuck with us from the beginning.
My, what active imaginations you have!
No, we’re still here in the Dimewise Bungalow, developing our mighty app with as much love and passion as we began. And we’re working on some gigantic improvements.
- New interface—sorta
For a while, we were working on a complete re-design of the site. A very long while. So long, in fact, that we got bogged down in details and the project stalled. So we took a page from “What About Bob:” baby steps. The new release you see now isn’t huge, but you can expect a lot more little changes in the near future. We have some great ideas, and we’re excited to show them to you, bit by bit.
- The biggest great idea
Aside from “Are you still alive?” the second most frequent question we receive is “Can Dimewise sync automatically with my bank account?” Indeed, dear friends, it can, and it will. We have a great proof of concept, and we’re working on integrating it into the full application. You can be sure that this is the first item on the list of new functionality we intend to add.
Those are the two big items we’re working on: improving Dimewise’s interface (yes, this includes iPhone compatibility) and automatic transaction downloading from your bank. We’ll stay busy with these and numerous other goals, and you can stay busy keeping your balances in the black. We’ll see you around—soon.

As many of you have pointed out, we’ve been pretty bad bloggers. Even though many exciting things have been going on with Dimewise, we haven’t posted about them. This is largely because our previous blogging system was updated about a year ago, and it broke a lot of the functionalities that made it, well, a blogging system—e.g. the ability to write posts.
Frustrated, we often would just decide each particular post wasn’t really all that important. Well, this just resulted in no news for too long. Last night, after we made our most noticeable update to Dimewise in a while, we were excited to post about it. Unfortunately, we were greeted with the same old error.
Well, that was the last straw. We will no longer be denied a way of communicating with our customers. We have dropped the old system and, as of this morning, migrated to Wordpress. This should keep you more up to date about what’s going on with your favorite personal finance manager. (We’ll be moving over the old posts over in the next few weeks.)
Here’s to hearing more from each other!
